Terry graduated in 1986 Cum Laude from Appalachian State University with a degree in business administration and a major in accounting. He began his accounting career with Wachovia Corporation. Desiring to assist smaller businesses, he soon joined a large local accounting firm, The Daniel Professional Group, headquartered in Winston-Salem, NC. In his ten years with the company, he spent significant time in its audit, tax and small business departments, and was promoted to manager-in-charge of the Mooresville office.

In 2008, Terry partnered with Martha D. Michael to form Corriher & Michael, PLLC.  Prior to the formation of Corriher & Michael, Terry had been a founding partner of Daniel, Ratliff & Company which was formed in 1996 and where he served as the managing shareholder of the Mooresville office.

Terry’s tax experience is extensive. He has experience in real estate development, construction, retail, wholesale, NASCAR, manufacturing, distribution and various service industries. His experience includes tax preparation and planning, agency representation, financial forecasting, cash flow analysis and financial statement preparation for small businesses. He serves as Corriher & Michael’s managing partner.

Terry is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. He served as the treasurer of the Mooresville Lake Norman Rotary Club, was the former assistant treasurer of Williamson Chapel United Methodist Church and currently serves on the executive committee, finance committee and is the chairman of the board of directors of the Lowes YMCA. He is an active member of the Appalachian State Alumni and former athletes associations.

Martha combines her legal, real estate and accounting backgrounds to assist our customers with their small business planning. A member of the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society and the Golden Key National Honor Society, Martha received her accounting degree Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte-all while raising a family and working full-time. She also holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration with high honors from Gaston College.

Martha began her accounting career with Daniel, Ratliff & Co. in 1996. She managed a client base in the Mooresville office and was promoted to Director in 2005 and in 2006 she became a Shareholder in the firm. In 2008, she partnered with Terry Corriher to form Corriher & Michael, PLLC.

Client loyalty is easy for Martha to achieve due to her strong emphasis on and dedication to customer service. Martha’s experience includes assisting with tax preparation and planning as well as financial statement preparation and consulting services for small businesses involved in the real estate, wholesale, NASCAR, manufacturing, distribution and various service industries.

In addition to typical compliance products, Martha is responsible for and is also instrumental in helping clients make the most of their internal resources by providing software consultation, systems evaluations and other operational guidance. As well as working with growing businesses, she also works with start up companies providing assistance with the nuances of setting up a new business, and developing internal accounting and software systems.

Martha is a member of the UNC-Charlotte Alumnae Association. She served on the prestigious UNC-Charlotte Alumni Board of Governors from 1998 to 2001, and served as Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors from 2000 to 2001. Martha has served three years as treasurer for the Top of the Lake Rotary in Mooresville, NC. In addition, she is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.
